Pediatric Cancer

This is a term used to describe cancers that occur between birth and 14 years of agePediatric malignancies are extremely uncommon and may behave differently from adult cancers in terms of how they develop, disseminate, are treated, and react to therapy.
Leukemia, tumors of the brain and spinal cord, lymphomas, neuroblastomas, Wilms tumors (a form of kidney cancer), retinoblastomas, and malignancies of the bone and soft tissues are the most prevalent types of cancer in children. also known as pediatric cancer.

Any age might be distressed by receiving a cancer diagnosis, but children are especially vulnerable. It’s normal to have a lot of inquiries, such Who should treat my child? Will my kid recover? What does this entail for our family, exactly? Although not all inquiries have answers, the data and resources on this page offer a good place to start learning about the fundamentals of pediatric cancer.

The District's Focus

We shall continously identify hospitals within the country, with an Oncology department with a view to determining how to best support activities towards eradication and /or management of Paediatric Cancer.
